On Wednesday, 6 August 2014, more than 180 women braced the unpleasant weather
to attend Prestige Academy’s annual Woman’s Evening. This auspicious event,
hosted at Eensgezind situated in the heart of Koeberg, set
the scene for a wonderful evening.
The first year students completing the National
Diploma in Event Management were
required to develop a sub-theme from the main theme, Madam Zingara, for each of
their tables. The event forms part of the curriculum and particularly the subject,
Events Practice.
The highlight for this year’s event was the guest
speaker, Hein Wagner, who was born blind. Hein left guests speechless with his
presentation and is
living proof that, despite the challenges that come our way, anything is
possible. He does not allow his blindness to stand in the way of his dreams and
people often refer to him as a blind man with exceptional vision.
Shaun Tait, the 2006 winner of Supersterre, graced the ladies with his presence by performing well-known songs.
This
event was a tremendous success
and, once again, the students outdid themselves. A
special word of thanks to our directors Mrs. Sandra Mostert and Ms. Estelle
Gallowitz, our Academic Manager, Mrs. Veda Liebenberg, staff, SRC and all those
that made this event possible.
