STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL CAMP
The day you decide to take a step forward is the day you decide to
become a part of something bigger than you.
This happens the day you decide to become part of the STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL.
On
the 23rd of November 2014 after a hectic few weeks of exams we
loaded the bus and off we went!
Not
really knowing what awaits us, but excited like a child getting candy.
We
were on our way to the most amazing week of our lives.
As
we drove with our cars and the bus, besides missing a few off ramps, throwing
donuts on the freeway, wanting to break a GPS, and driving 5km/ph on the dust
road in a mini van, we finally arrived.
WELCOME
to DOME ADVENTURES the sign read...
We
started off with a few orientation exercises and learning how to trust one
another, we did the trust fall, lifting ups, untie the knot, spider web and so
much more on the adventure course.
We
had a few meetings during the day, where our Lecturers shared some experiential
thoughts with us helping us to do our year planning.
The
next few days we went mountain climbing (testing our fitness skills, probably
everyone failed), abseiling (overcoming our fear of height), rowing (some
rowing up in the trees) and swimming in the Vaal River.
Not
only did we have so much fun in the activities but we made memories, some of us
even got our 'nicknames' that way.
This isn't a regular school camp, but a week of bringing out your qualities and potential
and also pushing you to handle things out of your comfort zone.
We
as SRC of CAPA group are ready to lead the way and make 2015 the most memorable year.
Not
only did we develop new leaders for the future, but we made new friends for
life.
