Workshop teaches learning progression

Workshop teaches learning progression
The best way for a person to learn depends on the person,” says Lynette Beukes, Integrated Learning Therapy Practitioner. Lynette informs hundreds of students each year on how to adapt a variety of study techniques according to their unique personalities. She is adamant that students follow their own study methods and that it is up to each student to create an individual learning style.
The proof is in the pudding as the key outcome of Lynette’s workshops is that students, when applying the techniques, excel during their examinations. On Friday 22 August Lynette visited Prestige Academy and assisted students through a number of study tests to apply effective study methods and skills. These methods allow students to gain the highest level of output as they will have the right tools to unlock their minds. The aim of these workshops is for attendees to grasp the understanding and importance of a specific study method.
“With great knowledge and progression comes a high level of understanding,” explained Lynette. This workshop proved successful as many of the students went on to acquire private study lessons with Mrs. Beukes.
Effective study methods have shown that learners and students, when putting in the effort, will ultimately succeed. Each method is crafted according to the students’ preferred study method. Some of these include study methods for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic or tactile learners; revision preparation; effective ways to summarize material; time management and getting to know your ‘brain stimulating foods’. Another tool to use is stress management, focus and concentration techniques.
Kerri-Lee Klassen, Deputy Chairperson of the Student Representative Council of Prestige Academy, also attended the workshop and says believing in yourself is of great importance as one is capable of greatness. “It just takes time and dedication,” she stated.
